1. Sophie Has Been Taking part in Guitar Since She Used to be as soon as 10 Years Earlier
Sophie’s website respectfully mentions that she started out as a “chamber guitarist”, however her credentials suggest otherwise. The 27-year-old musician graduated from the prestigious BIMM Institute (formerly known as The British and Irish Modern Music Institute) in 2018 and released her first EP, Delusions, while at the institute, according to reports reported on his YouTube channel. Music has always been important to Sophie, as she explains on her official website. “I started playing guitar when I was about 10 after listening to Led Zeppelin in the car with my dad,” she said. “Because I was a bit of an outcast, I had a lot of free time to devote to practice and this allowed me to escape reality, overcome my anxieties and have a sense of success.”
Sophie has always taken the process of learning guitar seriously. Her website further states that as a child she spent little time in the company of other boys and preferred to stay home to perfect her craft.

Sophie is in a long-term relationship with drummer Christopher Painter, known as “The Painter”. They have been together for five years, and to celebrate the milestone, the drummer posted a snap of their fifth anniversary on his Instagram account in January 2023. In the caption, he thanked Sophie for her kindness, generosity, caring, silliness and love, calling her his accomplice and point of reference in these five years.

Guitar World reported that the guitar was custom-crafted to Sophie’s specifications in Kiesel’s Escondido, California shop. “Having an artist collection guitar has been one of my aspirations since I was a child, and to have one with my favorite guitar company is simply mind-blowing,” Sophie said at the time. “Ever since I got this guitar, it’s provided me with so much inspiration and creativity which has truly taken my playing to the next level, and I’m so excited for everyone to try it out and fall in love with it as much as I have.”
Sophie showed her appreciation for Kiesel Guitars again in February 2022. “All the hard work and thought behind every guitar is so excellent and inspiring to see, so honored to be a part of this great company,” she wrote alongside a carousel of photos from her visit to the shop, as seen above.
5. Sophie Has Huge Plans
Sophie’s tour with MGK appears to be just the beginning of her ambitions. On her website, she revealed her desire to create collaborative albums with Guns N’ Roses lead guitarist Slash, Joe Satriani, Grammy Award winner Steve Vai, and other musicians. She also wants to make an impact on the world’s youth. “I would also love to do some kind of tour where I go around to different primary/secondary schools and do a masterclass to inspire young, especially girls, to pick up the guitar,” she said. “And ultimately, I’d like to have my own custom line of guitars with a company that people can purchase.”
